Report of nurse helping a homeless woman give birth goes viral

A report about an off-duty nurse helping a street dweller give birth has gone viral.

Lorrainne Pingol was running late for work Tuesday as she made her way on Osmeña Avenue in Makati City, when barangay officials called her for help.

The 29-year-old nurse approached to see a homeless woman giving birth by the side of the road.

She then helped cut the umbilical cord of the infant and asked the barangay officials to immediately bring the mother and son to the hospital to receive proper medical assistance.

Nabigla ako kasi hindi ko inaasahan na magte-trending ako,” Pingol said.

[Translation: I was surprised because I did not expect that I will trend online.]

She added that is happy that she was able to give inspiration to people amid the pandemic.
