Barangay Ginebra San Miguel remained undefeated in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup after breezing past the Meralco Bolts,105-91, Sunday at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena.
Japeth Aguilar paced Ginebra with 20 points on an efficient 8-for-11 shooting clip. Stanley Pringle was right behind with 16 points alongside seven rebounds.
The Gin Kings used a decisive second quarter to get ahead of its opponent. They scored 31 points while limiting the Bolts to 19 to take a 51-39 halftime advantage. After a back and forth third period, the Ginebra was able to pull away in the final frame. Hits from Prince Caperal, Japeth Aguilar, and Jeff Chan gave Ginebra its biggest lead of 24 points, 92-68, midway through the fourth.
Ginebra moves to a perfect 3-0 slate while Meralco slides to 1-2.
