Boston fans will get a first-hand look at a few players who could have been Celtics this offseason.
The Celtics (1-2) travel to Indiana on Sunday to take on the Pacers (3-0), who had discussions with the C's about a sign-and-trade for Gordon Hayward before the free agent landed with the Charlotte Hornets.
Indy is undefeated on the young season after wins over two Eastern Conference bottom-feeders in the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls. Boston has had a much tougher schedule out of the gate, beating the Milwaukee Bucks on a Jayson Tatum buzzer-beater in its season opener but falling to the Brooklyn Nets on Christmas Day.
Forsberg: Enjoy the Celtics' journey, bumps and all
The Celtics should see a full-strength Pacers squad led by Victor Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner, so their first road matchup of 2020 will be no cakewalk.
