Major League Soccer will conclude its 25th anniversary season with an MLS Cup showdown between the Western Conference champion Seattle Sounders FC and Eastern Conference champion Columbus Crew SC.
The game will be held at Mapfre Stadium, home stadium of the Crew and the first soccer-specific stadium built for an MLS team. It opened in 1999 and this will be the final major soccer event held at the venue as the Crew will move into a new downtown stadium in 2021.
The reigning champion Sounders are vying for their third MLS Cup win (previous wins came in 2016 and 2019). The Crew are playing for their second league title (Columbus won the 2008 MLS Cup).
