The Metro Manila Film Festival is going online for 2020, with all 10 entries available to stream on-demand via Upstream and GMovies.
Upstream is a Philippine-based streaming platform while GMovies, a Globe Telecom-powered app, is the payment and booking portal.
Tickets for the MMFF title have been available for purchase since December 7 in the Philippines and December 18 elsewhere in the world. To book a ticket, head on to Upstream’s MMFF portal (https://upstream.ph/mmff), and click “reserve now” or “stream now” on your movie of choice.
Clicking that will lead you to GMovies. If you already have an account, you can go ahead and hit “pay.” If you don’t have an account yet, make one first.
You can pay via credit or debit card, GCash, or through your Globe mobile plan. You can also input you voucher code if you purchased a ticket via Lazada or Shopee. Once you’re done paying or inputting your voucher code, you should be able to see all the movies you’ve bought passes to under “my shows” on the GMovies app or website.
Here are important things to remember: the movie is available to stream up to 5 days after purchase (beginning December 25, if you pre-purchased a ticket to an MMFF movie).
Once you click play, however, you only have 24 hours to finish streaming the movie. You’re free to rewatch it, so long as you do so within those 24 hours. For instance, if you started watching a movie at 9 am on December 25, you’ll have until 9 am of December 26 to stream it. After that, the movie disappears from your “My Shows” tab.
GMovies is available on the App Store, Google Play store, and AppGallery. You can also access it via its website. It’s available to users worldwide.
Each digital movie ticket is worth P250, which means you’ll need to buy one ticket for each MMFF movie you want to watch.
You can also purchase tickets for friends and family via Shopee.
