Philippine Airlines flight attendant found dead in Makati hotel

A flight attendant working for the Philippine Airlines has been found dead in a Poblacion, Makati City hotel room after celebrating New Year’s Day with her friends.

Christine Angelica Dacera, 23, checked in at City Garden Hotel with her colleagues Rommel Galida, Gregorio Angelo Rafael de Guzman, and John Dela Serna at about 12:30am on Jan. 1.

After partying together, Galida woke at about 10am and found Dacera seemingly sleeping in the bathtub. He covered Dacera with a blanket, then returned to sleep. He awoke a few hours later and was shocked to find his colleague’s body still unconscious and turning blue. Dacera was brought to the hotel clinic where she was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation. However, she remained unresponsive and was transferred to the Makati Medical Clinic where she was declared dead on arrival.

Makati City Police Station chief Colonel Harold Depositar told Pilipino Star Ngayon that the hospital informed the authorities of the flight attendant’s death at about 5pm on Jan.1. Dacera’s body had abrasions and hematoma, and it was determined that the secondary cause of death was an aneurysm. The police are in the process of autopsying the body to determine if the victim ingested alcohol or drugs.

Depositar said that aside from her colleagues, the victim was accompanied by acquaintances and there were about 10 people inside the hotel room during the private party.

Coconuts Manila got in touch with the Makati police but an officer said they are not yet ready to provide updates on the investigation.
