Greg Slaughter is back with Barangay Ginebra after signing a fresh contract.
Assistant coach Richard del Rosario confirmed the development Thursday, a day after coach Tim Cone said on Twitter that Slaughter is under contract with the Gin Kings.
The two-time Grand Slam coach replied to a query on Twitter asking a slew of questions about Ginebra's plans ahead of the 2021 Philippine Cup. Cone wrote, "No answers yet, except that Greg is signed."
Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed by Ginebra management, who haven't responded to ESPN5.com's messages as of posting time.
Slaughter last December issued an apology to top SMC officials "for any misunderstanding or bad feelings that may have occurred" because of his decision to take a sabbatical early last year.
The 32-year-old big man announced on social media last year that he was going to take a break from basketball and wasn't part of the Ginebra's delegation for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup in Clark, Pampanga.
During his time away from Ginebra, Slaughter signed with top European agency BeoBasket and had been training in the United States.
Slaughter averaged 9.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.9 blocks in his last full season with Ginebra.
