Pacquiao, Crawford in talks for June 5 fight in Abu Dhabi

A mega showdown between eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and reigning WBO world welterweight champion Terence Crawford is on the table for June 5 in Abu Dhabi.

According to The Athletic, Top Rank has informed its broadcast partner ESPN to put the said date on hold as both camps are in talks for a possible fight though no contract has been signed yet.

Crawford, 33, holds an unbeaten record of 37-0 with 28 knockouts and is rated by The Ring as the no. 3 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

He last fought in November against ex-world champ Kell Brook where he won via technical knockout in the fourth round.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao, 42, has not fought since July 2019 when he defeated Keith Thurman to claim the WBA world welterweight title which later was stripped off of him due to inactivity.
