Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has formally taken charge as 26th police chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Eleazar formally assumed the post at the change of command ceremony in Camp Crame in Quezon City attended by Police Major General Debold Sinas and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año.
Eleazar is replacing outgoing Sinas, who will retire on May 8, Saturday. Eleazar and Sinas belong to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Hinirang” Class of 1987.
Before being the PNP chief, Eleazar was the PNP’s deputy chief for administration.
He was also on the National Capital Region Police’s Joint Task Force COVID Shield, which enforced quarantine rules and protocols.
