SKILLS and potentials stood on equal footing with commitment and attitude in the selection of the members of the national men and women volleyball and beach volleyball pool.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) announced on Wednesday the 20 men and 16 women who make up the volleyball pool as well as the 10 men and as many women for the beach volleyball program.
Leading the women’s indoor team is middle blocker Jaja Santiago along with Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) veterans Aby Marano, Majoy Baron, Eya Laure and Mylene Paat.
Newcomers Iris Tolenada, Kamille Cal, Faith Nisperos, Ivy Lacsina, Mhicaela Belen, Dell Palomata, Ria Meneses, Imee Hernandez, Jennifer Nierva and Bernadette Pepito are also in the list.
SEA Games bronze medal winners Sisi Rondina, Bernadeth Pons, Dzi Gervacio and Dij Rodriguez are heading the women’s beach volley team along with Jennifer Cosas, Alexa Polidario, Erjane Magdato, Babylove Barbon, Gen Eslapor and Mer Jauculan.
In the men’s division, the silver medal team in the Manila SEA Games composed of Bryan Bagunas, Marck Espejo, Jessie Lopez, Ish Polvorosa, Josh Retamar, Mark Alfafara, Jao Umandal, John Vic de Guzman, Rex Intal, Kim Malabunga, Francis Saura, Jack Kalingking and Ricky Marcos are retained.
Joining them are Kim Dayadante, Nico Almendras, Ysay Marasigan, Joeven dela Vega, JP Bugaoan, Lloyd Josafat and Manuel Sumanguid.
The men’s beach volley is composed of Anthony Arbasto, Jude Garcia, Jaron Requinton, James Buytrago, Philip Bagalay, Ranran Abdilla, Jade Becaldo, Calvin Sarte, James Pecaña and AJ Pareja.
