Tenorio finally on board for Ginebra

Veteran guard LA Tenorio finally joined Barangay Ginebra in scrimmages for the first time this season.

The 36-year-old guard showed up together with the rest of the Kings at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa City, where the team has been doing 5-on-5 practices for the second straight week.

Tenorio missed the early part of the Kings' training after going on a brief respite in the U.S., and then observed the customary 14-day quarantine upon his arrival in the country.

While in the U.S., last year's Finals MVP in the Philippine Cup bubble also went out of his way to get fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

"Yes, first day ko (nung Monday)," said Tenorio, who hails from nearby Nasugbu.

On his first day in practice, the six-time champion guard immediately had his hands full as he was assigned to test the mettle of rookie Brian Enriquez.

The 6-foot-2 Enriquez, who holds a four-inch height advantage over Tenorio, tried to make plays and even posted up against the 14-year guard during the team's scrimmages.

Enriquez was the Kings' second round pick at no. 13 during the last PBA draft.

Obviously still not in game shape, but Tenorio hopes to fully get back in playing form in time for the opener of the league's 46th season where Ginebra is the defending all-Filipino champion.
