Choco Mucho posted its second straight win at the expense of Sta. Lucia, 25-17, 25-22, 25-20, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Friday at PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
Kat Tolentino led the way with 18 points as the Flying Titans jumped to second in the standings with a 2-0 record behind 3-0 Creamline.
The Lady Realtors, meanwhile, lost their second straight match to drop to 1-3.
Choco Mucho head coach Oliver Almadro said the sweep wasn’t expected especially against a contender such as Sta. Lucia but they did treat the match as a must-win case.
“We didn’t expect this, we know that Sta. Lucia is a contender and we know the level of that team,” said Almadro. “We started slow in the second set but good thing the players were able to adjust.”
“Every game should be a learning experience and this is a big deal for us because we defeated one of the contenders.”
Maddie Madayag and Bea De Leon added seven points apiece for the Flying Titans.
Jonah Sabete and Mika Reyes had nine points apiece for the Lady Realtors.
