SEVEN-FOOT Greg Slaughter meets former team Ginebra San Miguel.
And his former coach has a reason to worry about, when the Gin Kings face Slaughter and Northport as both teams are gunning for their second victory in Season 46 Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup on Friday at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
The defending champion Gin Kings and the Batang Pier are sporting an identical 1-2 win-loss mark.

“Greg was dominant against San Miguel Beer,” Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said, referring to Slaughter’s gigantic 23 points and 17 rebounds performance in a close 86-88 loss to San Miguel Beer last Sunday.
“He was very impressive and now with the return of Robert Bolick, Northport has a dynamic one, two punch that you have to account for.”
Cone also said they are still hoping to get back on track after losing to Magnolia, 79-89, last Sunday despite Stanley Pringle’s 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
“At this point, we are still trying to get ourselves untracked and smooth out our execution on both sides of the ball. We are hoping that we can start making some positive steps forward in this game,” he added.
Slaughter was traded by the Kings to the Batang Pier for Christian Standhardinger last March.
The game between Northport and Ginebra starts at 6 p.m.
In the 3 p.m. second game between Rain or Shine and TNT KaTropa, the Elasto Painters expect to bounce back from a disastrous 48-point lowest scoring output in franchise history last Wednesday against Alaska.
Although they are still on track with a 3-1 record despite that humiliating defeat (48-74) to the Aces, Rain or Shine wants to forget that by defusing TNT.
The KaTropa, who haven’t played since they beat Terrafirma last July 17, are expected to come out with additional firepower as they activated rookie Mikey Williams.
In the first game, Magnolia (3-0) tries to keep its clean slate going when it takes on Terrafirma (0-2) at 12:30 p.m.
