Thirdy Ravena headlines Gilas Pilipinas' lineup for King Abdullah Cup

Thirdy Ravena will once against reinforce the national team as he banners Gilas Pilipinas' 15-man lineup for the King Abdullah Cup, which will be staged in Jordan this July.

Last donning the national colors in the first window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers last year, Ravena returned to national team duty after finishing his first season in the Japanese B. League with the San-En NeoPhoenix.

Also back in the lineup are guards Dwight Ramos, Dave Ildefonso, Matt Nieto, and Rey Suerte.

Although Ramos joined the Nationals in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia, he sat out all games as he nursed a strained groin.

Meanwhile, Ildefonso, Nieto, and Suerte did not see action in the third window of the Asia Cup Qualifiers due to injuries.

Completing the 15-man crew are naturalized player Angelo Kouame, Justine Baltazar, RJ Abarrientos, SJ Belangel, Jordan Heading, William Navarro, Mike Nieto, Carl Tamayo, Isaac Go, and Geo Chiu.

A part of the 19-man pool for the Asia Cup, Jaydee Tungcab, Allyn Bulanadi, Tzaddy Rangel, and Kemark Cariño did not make the cut.

Gilas Pilipinas joined the King Abdullah Cup to gear up for the Asia Cup, which will be hosted by Indonesia in August.

A hectic schedule awaits the Philippines in the tournament as it faces Egypt on July 26, Saudi Arabia on July 27, Jordan B on July 28, Tunisia on July 29, and Jordan A on July 30.
