San Miguel Beer and Alaska Milk eye getting on track as they go up against each other in their second outing in the Bacolor swing of the PBA Philippine Cup at the DHVSU Gym Saturday.
UPDATE: The PBA game scheduled on Saturday between Alaska Aces and the San Miguel Beermen has been postponed in accordance with the PBA's health and safety protocols.
Both dropped their opening matches in the tournament restart with the Beermen falling to a 104-110 overtime upset by the Terrafirma Dyip Wednesday and the Aces toppled by the NLEX Road Warriors Thursday.
They try to avoid further slide in their 4:35 p.m. clash.
Despite the loss, the Beermen remained entrenched in the upper half of the chart with a 3-2 win-loss slate.
The Aces, meanwhile, slid deeper down the chart with a second straight loss and fourth in six games in all.
The Beermen were on a three-game romp before blowing away what had looked like a won ball game against the Dyip.
Juami Tiongson took the scoring cudgels for the injury-hit Terrafirma as the Dyip pulled off yet another stunner against the powerhouse San Miguel side.
Curiously, the Dyip's overtime triumph Wednesday was the third in their last five encounters versus the Beermen.
Tiongson and his teammates pulled the rug from under the Beermen even with Terrence Romeo finally rejoining June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Chris Ross and CJ Perez in action.
Going down the drain was Romeo's 28-point explosion in his return from an injury.
Stung by that defeat, the Beermen should be aching for a bounceback.
The same is the Aces' mission, though, coming from their loss to the Road Warriors.
