Calvin Abueva scored a buzzer-beating basket to give Magnolia a 90-89 win over NorthPort and a spot in the quarterfinals of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Abueva received Rome dela Rosa’s inbound underneath the basket with 2.6 seconds left before turning around to score off Kevin Ferrer that allowed the Hotshots to emerge victorious in the contest that had a crazy ending.
Magnolia improved to 7-3, formally joining TNT in the quarterfinals despite staying third in the standings.
