PLDT barged into the winning column after trouncing Army Black Mamba, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21, on Thursday, February 16 in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Mean Mendrez notched 11 points to lead the High Speed Hitters who claimed their first win in two games and dealt the Lady Troopers their second loss in as many games this conference.

Army has now lost 15 straight games dating back to the Invitational Conference last year.

"We're still not there. That was not the performance that we're looking for. Our goal every game is to improve," said PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort.

Rhea Dimaculangan dished out 18 excellent sets as Dell Palomata and Jovy Prado scored nine points apiece.

After a dominant second set, the High Speed Hitters went on to lead by five in the third, 18-13, but the Lady Troopers put up a fight and got within one, 17-18.

PLDT, though, was hardly shaken as it kept its poise to eventually finish off Army on a Jovy Prado attack and a Dimaculangan service ace.

Royse Tubino put up eight points to pace the Lady Troopers as Nhene Bautista backstopped her with seven.

Meanwhile, Chery Tiggo made quick work of F2 Logistics, 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, to go 3-0 and join Creamline on top of the team standings.

Mylene Paat continued to show her MVP form as she collected 22 points on 20 attacks, one block and one service ace to lead the Crossovers.

Alina Bicar dished out 20 excellent sets while Buding Duremdes logged 25 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.
