UP wins third straight at NU's expense; Adamson overcomes Ateneo in OT

University of the Philippines notched its third straight win after taking down National University, 78-60, on Saturday in UAAP Season 86 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Francis Lopez posted 14 points and seven boards, while Malick Diouf had 12 points and 13 boards for the Fighting Maroons.

Meanwhile, Jake Figueroa registered a double-double performance of 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs dropped to 2-1.

Vince Magbuhos, on the other hand, became the hero for Adamson University as he drilled the buzzing-beater trey to propel the Falcons past Ateneo de Manila University in overtime, 74-71.

De La Salle University dismantled University of Santo Tomas, 91-71, while University of the East overcame Far Eastern University, 65-58.

UAAP action in men's basketball will return on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
