The TNT Tropang Giga scored a breakthrough 88-67 win over Barangay Ginebra, earning their first victory in Game 3 of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup finals Friday at the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
Roger Pogoy led five TNT players in double-figures with 18 points while adding six rebounds and three assists. He also created havoc on the defensive end, coming away with six steals. Troy Rosario, meanwhile, found his shooting stroke as he netted 15 points on an efficient 7-for-9 clip and Jayson Castro had a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists.
TNT started to gain control in the second period, outscoring Ginebra, 23-8. The Tropang Giga continued to pour it on and mounted a 15-point lead early in the third quarter and countered every run by the Gin Kings, before settling for a 66-56 edge entering the final frame.
The lead swelled to as high as 19 points midway through the fourth as TNT was determined to finally get a win in the best-of-seven series. With the game already out of reach, Ginebra coach Tim Cone pulled out his starters with under four minutes remaining.
