Capiz - Continuous rain brought by a low pressure area has flooded 50 barangays in Capiz province, submerging many rice fields.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported flooding in 50 villages in eight towns as of 7 p.m. Monday.
No casualties and evacuees were reported.
The flooded villages included 17 in Panitan, 12 each in Mambusao and Sigma, 3 in Dumalag, 2 each in Cuartero and Dao and 1 each in Jamindan and Maayon.
Disaster management personnel are monitoring water levels in rivers in the province.
Flooded in Panitan were Cabugao, Ambilay, Cadio, Banga-an, Quios, Tincupon, Tinigban, Pasugue, Cala-an, Capagao, Balatucan, Salocon, Intampilan, Tabuc Norte, Bahit, Agbabadiang, and Agkilo.
In Mambusao, flooding was reported in Pangpang Norte, Tumalalud, Manibad, Balat-an, Pangpang Sur, Bula, Poblacion Proper, Maralag, Atiplo, Sinondojan, Tugas, and Burias.
Flooded in Sigma were Pagbunitan, Bangon-bangon, Cogon, Amaga, Dayhagon, Mangoso, Acbo, Poblacion Norte, Capuyhan, Poblacion Sur, Balucuan and Guintas.
In Dumalag town, flooding was reported in Sta. Cruz, Sto. Angel, Sto. Niño while those in Cuartero town included Nagba and Angub.
The other flooded villages were Duyoc and Poblacion Ilawod in Dao town, Fernandez in Maayon town and Bayebaye in Jamindan town. CBB/Nestor Burgos/Inquirer.net
