Flood cripples Capiz towns situated near Panay River

MANILA — Flooding brought about by heavy rains have crippled eight towns in Capiz Tuesday.

The towns of Maayon, Panitan, Pontevedra, Dao, Jamindan, Mambusao, Sigma and Cuartero are situated mostly along the Panay River.
Several schools suspended classes.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council's Facebook page, classes in elementary schools in Mambusan town were suspended.

No evacuation of residents has been reported. A cluster of houses in Barangay Dayhagon in Sigma, were isolated, affecting 179 families. (Bea Zaragosa, ABS-CBN News_)
