ROXAS City – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Capiz was currently monitoring the province regarding the onslaught of tropical depression “Agaton.”
Before Capiz was placed under any storm signal, several towns in the province were already swamped due to the rains that “Agaton” brought, the PDRRMO reported.
Some of the flooded municipalities were Mambusao, Cuartero and Pontevedra.
As of 2 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) placed Panay Island under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 1, along with Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Southern Quezon, and MIMAROPA (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan).
Residents in these areas were advised to take precautionary measures against possible flooding and landslides and to coordinate with their respective local risk reduction and management councils./PN
