A third-quarter explosion propelled the Blackwater Elite to victory, as they decimated the hapless NLEX Road Warriors, 98-88, Saturday evening at the AUF Arena during the continuation of the 2010 PBA Philippine Cup.
With the score tied at 46 at intermission, the Elite outscored the Road Warriors, 35-16, in the game-defining period. In their matches against NorthPort and Ginebra, Blackwater scored 41 and 39, respectively, in the third quarter.
The Elite, who won its second game in three tries, were led by Don Trollano's 18 points and 11 rebounds, while veteran KG Canaleta added 18 markers and six rebounds.
For NLEX, rookie Mike Ayonayon had a great scoring night, putting up 20 markers with six rebounds. The Road Warriors, though, fell to a 0-3 hole.
