Mike DiGregorio's late 3-pointer sealed the Alaska Aces' first win of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup at the expense of the Magnolia Hotshots, 87-81, Saturday evening at the AUF Gym.
The Fil-Am guard's triple at the top of the key over opposing guard Mark Barroca pushed the lead to four, 83-79, with 54.6 seconds left.
Barroca was able to respond with a bucket with 35.0 ticks to go, but DiGregorio nailed the insurance free throws to increase the lead back to four, 85-81, with 25.3 remaining.
Jeron Teng led Alaska's offense with 19 points and five rebounds, while Jvee Casio added 17 in Alaska's first win in three tries, while Barroca ended up with 16 for Magnolia, which sank to 1-2.
