Barangay Ginebra emerged as the biggest winner of the virtual PBA Awards Night on Sunday, January 17 with 4 of its players taking home individual honors.
Stanley Pringle led all Ginebra players by being crowned the Best Player of the Conference of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup and clinching a spot in the Outstanding Five.
Pringle bested Phoenix's Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva, TNT's Roger Pogoy and Ray Parks, and Terrafirma's CJ Perez for the top prize.
Joining Pringle in the Outstanding Five are Wright, Abueva, Ginebra's Japeth Aguilar, and TNT's Poy Erram.
Meanwhile, Ginebra's Prince Caperal accentuated a career conference by nailing the Most Improved Player plum as he filled in the void left by Greg Slaughter in their title conquest.
Caperal won over Phoenix's Justin Chua and Jason Perkins, Meralco's Reynel Hugnatan, Rain or Shine's Javee Mocon, and NLEX's Raul Soyud.
Completing the honor roll for Ginebra is Scottie Thompson, who clinched the Sportsmanship Award.
Thompson ended the three-year reign of Rain or Shine's Gabe Norwood and beat out Abueva, Perez, and NLEX's Kevin Alas.
It would have been a sweep for Ginebra had Arvin Tolentino won Rookie of the Year, but Meralco's Aaron Black came out on top as the best newcomer.
Alaska's Barkley Eboña, Terrafirma's Roosevelt Adams, and Magnolia's Aris Dionisio also contended for the top rookie honors. – Rappler.com
