NBA star Damian Lillard contributes in PGH donation drive

'Dame Time' came through for the beleaguered Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

According to local actress Yassi Pressman, NBA star Damian Lillard dished out a 'generous' monetary assistance to her donation drive for PGH, which caught fire on May 16, with the damages on the state-run hospital amounting to about P60 million.

"Huuuuuge thanks to big brother @DamianLillard for sending over such a generous amount, kahit na wala siya sa (despite that he's nowhere in the) Pilipinas, just to be able to help," wrote Pressman at the tail end of an Instagram post on May 29, as she expressed gratitude to everyone who helped out her donation drive she set up through her social media pages.

Reportedly, Pressman was able to raise over P1 million from her donation drive, which she has already turned over to PGH in Manila. PGH still needs more help.

Meanwhile, Lillard, one of the most outspoken NBA stars when it comes to social issues, together with the Portland Trail Blazers, is battling the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs.

Lillard has already visited the Philippines twice, with the first in 2014 when he played in an exhibition game, and second in 2016 in a promotional tour of his signature basketball shoes.
