The TNT Tropang Giga kept their unsullied record after six games by beating the Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots, 83-76, in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Veteran point guard Jayson Castro led the charge for TNT of 17 focuses, four helps, and three takes while tenderfoot Mikey Williams supplemented him with 14 focuses, five helps, and two takes.
Kelly Williams, another Tropang Giga veteran, enrolled a twofold with 13 focuses and 15 bounce back to keep up with their hold in the group standings with a 6-0 record.
"We as a whole worked effectively in ensuring playing our positions. It's simply playing for one another, we never truly realize who will come join in the festivities well. That is one of the qualities of our group," said the 39-year-old Williams.
The fight between the top crews in the association ended up being moored on guard with a low scoring first half which saw TNT ahead, 35-32.
The Tropang Giga broadened their edge in the second from last quarter from the decent hostile yields of Castro, Williams, and RR Pogoy.
Dynamite recorded its greatest lead of the game, 69-58, in the final quarter, holding the lead until the last signal sounded.
"Our concentration for this game turned out to be extremely basic, simply ensure that we outwork them and they don't outwork us. At any rate, we had the option to coordinate with their power," said TNT lead trainer Chot Reyes said.
Calvin Abueva set up 23 focuses for Magnolia, who is currently attached with Meralco for runner up in the group standings with a 5-2 record.
Meanwhile, the PBA delayed the other Sunday game between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Meralco as per the association's wellbeing and security conventions. No date has been set at this point when the game will be played. The Scores: TNT 83 – Castro 17, M. Williams 14, K.
