ROXAS City – The Provincial Development Council (PDC) has approved more than P5 billion for the Capiz provincial government’s 2017 Annual Investment Plan.
The amount will cover projects and programs focusing on health, sports, infrastructure, and economy, among others.
Gov. Antonio del Rosario is leading the PDC as chairman.
A total of P3,588,471,731.04 has been allocated for economic services, including livelihood services; infrastructure programs, like road-concreting and bridge construction; tourism projects; food security; and veterinary services.
Meanwhile P785,192,208 was allotted for social services, including aid to individuals in crisis situations (AICS), rehabilitation/upgrade of facilities in state-run hospitals; rehabilitation of the Villareal Stadium; and scholarships, school development and population management, among others.
General public services, such as disaster risk reduction and management, rehabilitation of the detention facility, and gender-sensitivity training, had a budget of P442,093,204.
Terminal leave benefits and aid to barangays were allotted P20,000,000 and P473,000, respectively.
Mambusao town’s national bypass/diversion road from Barangay Bula to Barangay Atiplo; the University of the Philippines Graduate School building; and the Panay River rehabilitation were included in the projects during the PDC meeting Monday, Dec. 5.
The PDC will also push to reprogram funds, such as the P18,000,000 for the construction of the third floor of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital on Arnaldo Boulevard and the P4,800,000 for the AICS. (RJMijares, Capiz Aksyon News Center/PN)
