In the province’s biggest event – and this year’s CAPIZtahan
is the most promising with thrilling activities that will delight and surprise
the locals, visitors and guests.
Set on April 21-23, CAPIZtahan marks the 116th
foundation day of the civil government of Capiz, and the commemoration of the
69th death anniversary of President Manuel Acuña Roxas on April 15.
Now on its 10th year, CAPIZtahan,
regardless how it is spelled, simply means a “celebration,” or “festivity” a
Capiceño can understand.

Governor Tony del Rosario, Vice Gov. Nonoy Contreras
and provincial officials invite everyone to experience the ‘most promising’
CAPIZtahan festival with thrilling activities including a new and unique “Night
Market (Bazaar/Street Food Fest); Sadsad Capiz to be participated in by
all municipalities and lone city of Roxas in colorful costumes; a beauty
pageant of Capiz lass - the then Mutya sang Halaran which started in 1976, but now
known as Mutya sang Halaran sa CAPIZtahan.”
Also, a two-day sports tourism event on April 22 to
23, the 1st Capiz International Triathlon, also known as “TriAksyon,”
is expected to litter crowds in the major streets and historical sites of the
city and the municipality of Panay where the biggest bell In Asia is hang.
Several pre-CAPIZtahan activities will kick-off April
15 in the morning, including the wreath laying for the 69th death
anniversary of President Manuel A. Roxas at the Roxas City Public Plaza.
Since its inception on 2008, CAPIZtahan continues to
be an inspiration among Capizeños here and abroad to come home to feel the
hospitality and togetherness that are innate in them.
