ROXAS City – Government agencies and non-government groups demonstrated the use of rescue and response equipment for disaster management.

It was part of the Display of Rescue Equipment and Photo Exhibit at the College of St. John that the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) organized in observance of the National Resilience Month.

Agencies and groups involved were:

* Bureau of Fire Protection
* Capiz State University (CapSU) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit
* Kabalikat Civicom 371
* Philippine Army’s 61st Infantry “Hunter” Battalion
* Philippine Coast Guard
* Philippine Information Agency
* Philippine Red Cross Capiz chapter
* Roxas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office
* Scan Civic Capiz

On display were two-way radio equipment, fire trucks, fire extinguishers, rescue boats, life jackets, ambulance, flashlights, spot and search lights, sirens, breathing apparatus, ropes, rechargeable batteries, chain saw, solar panels, and first-aid kits.

In the past three years, the PDRRMO put up a similar exhibit at the CapSU main campus, Capiz National High School and Hercor College. (PIA/PN)
